Why It Performs
Its high specific gravity (3.8–4.1) lets garnet form a dense lower layer beneath lighter media in multi-media beds, enabling higher service flow rates and finer capture of suspended solids. Chemically inert and mechanically durable, it resists attrition and chemical attack, holding its grading and bed structure over long service life with straightforward backwashing.
